Step one
How to measure your head

Take a soft tape measure and wrap it around your head, sitting 1–2 cm above your ears and eyebrows — right where the hat band will rest.

Keep the tape level all the way around and snug but not tight — you should fit one finger underneath.

Note the measurement in centimetres, then measure once more to confirm. Heads aren't perfectly round — use the larger number.
No tape measure? Wrap a piece of string or a phone charging cable around your head, mark where it meets, and measure it flat against a ruler.

Between two sizes? Size up — a slightly roomy hat can be fitted down with sizing tape, but a tight hat can't be stretched much. Not every style is stocked in every size; check the size options on each product page.

Fit tips from the shop floor
Felt gives, straw doesn't
Wool and fur felt hats mould slightly to your head with wear. Straw holds its shape — so with straw, get the size right on day one.
The one-finger test
A well-fitted hat sits snug with room for one finger between the band and your head. If it leaves a red mark, it's too small.
Fine-tune with sizing tape
Foam sizing tape inside the sweatband takes a hat down roughly half a size — handy if you're between sizes or your hat loosens over time.

Hat shaping options
Many of our felt hats start life as an open crown — a blank canvas that can be creased into a shape that suits your face, your work, and your taste. These are the classic shapes we set most often.
Open Crown
Uncreased and full-height, exactly as it leaves the block. Wear it round and tall, or have it shaped into any style below.
Cattleman
Three parallel creases down the crown — the traditional stockman's shape. Clean, conservative, and at home anywhere from the yards to town.
Pinch Front (Teardrop)
Sides pinched toward the front into a teardrop when viewed from above. Flattering on most faces — the go-to for everyday wear.
Centre Crease
One deep crease straight down the middle. An old-school drover's shape with a lower, streamlined profile.
Diamond
An angular, faceted top with crisp corners. More attitude than the Cattleman — popular for dress-leaning felt hats.
Gus
Tall at the back, sloping down to a pinched front. A frontier-era shape with plenty of personality — sheds rain off the back, too.
Brim styles
Flat
Level all round for maximum sun coverage — the working default.
Rancher Curl
Sides rolled up, front and back level — the cowboy standard.
Pencil Roll
A tight curl right at the edge — a refined finish that keeps its line.
Down in Front
Front dipped to shade the eyes, back kicked up. Practical and sharp.
